My IT guys just informed me that they are having to to an Internet install on each workstation, rather than being able to download the update once to the server and blow it out to each workstation from there. They called Lacerte and found out the old way is "broken". The good news is that my IT guy got a live tech support person in under 5 minutes!If Lacerte keeps going this way, I will be looking at moving our firm over to CCH ProSystem (which I used several years ago before coming to my current firm). Seems that Intuit is having the same effect on Lacerte as it is on QuickBooks (which is also broken for large users like my firm). Lacerte (and Intuit) need to talk with us and find out what we need...otherwise larger firms (and I don't mean huge, just more than 5 users) will leave them, and never look back. Or maybe that is what they want.
