We are using Tax Import for the very first time, and it seems as though everything we scan and submit will be saved in DMS twice. Once when we scan it and then a second time when it is sent back to us. Does this seem like a waste of memory space or duplicate information?
When you submit your documents to Intuit for processing, Intuit generates a highlighted PDF of those documents for you to use in reviewing the import. Lots of customers use dual monitors to compare the highlighted PDF (all numbers imported into the tax program are highlighted in green) against what was imported just to make sure everything came through accurately. An additional benefit for you is that the file returned to you is bookmarked and organized in such a way that you’ll be able to more easily retrieve it later, if needed. I would just delete the "old" files after you get the organized one back if you think they are taking up too much space. My thinking? It's nice to have both and drive space is cheap :-)
