Summarize Payroll Data in Excel-Problems

I have clients using Quickbooks Pro 2007 and Quickbooks Pro 2008. I have had problems with the menu item (Summarize Payroll Data in Excel) disappearing. The Quickbooks web site says to go into the Windows control panel, add/remove program and repair Quickbooks. If that doesn't work it says to reinstall Quickbooks. I did both of those for 2007 and then the menu option disappeared in 2008. So I repaired Quickbooks 2008 and now the menu option disappeared for 2007. Has anyone else had this problem?

Yesterday was the first time I was not able to generate client ready payroll reports in QuickBooks 2008. When Excel opens I get a message :" problem connecting to Quickbooks. make sure QuickBooks is running and a file is open." If anyone knows how to fix this please let me know how. Thanks

I've had problems with the exporting of payroll reports to excel when I have multiple versions of QuickBooks open. Make sure it's the only Qbks you have open and try it again. If not, I don't know what the answer is. Hope that helps.

I had the same problem. Tech support had me repair the installation. It took a couple of minutes, but it fixed the problem. I can't remember the exact sequence, so I advise you to call tech support.
