STIMULUS CHECK REPORTING FOR 2008
WHERE IS THE STIMILUS CHECK SUPPOSE TO BE REPORTED ON THE 1040
WHERE IS THE STIMILUS CHECK SUPPOSE TO BE REPORTED ON THE 1040

Nowhere. If you didn't get during 2008 all you were entitled to based on your 2008 return, the additional is shown on Line 70.
Input in Screen 3.
Screen 3. It does not show on the 1040 but you input it on Screen 3 to see if the taxpayer will qualify for a credit this year.
IF they are entitled to additional stimulous money (aka Recovery Rebate Credit), it will show up on line 70 of page 2 of the 1040. YOU must run their SSN, filing status and dependents on www.irs.gov "how much was my stimulous payment". If you put in the incorrect information, it can hold up getting your refund back from the IRS.
We went through this during the first peak season of this tax year before we starting running the stimulous info on the irs website. People rarely remember what they received AND if they owed IRS, child support or other garnishments, IRS considers this as received anyhow even though they did not physically get the stimulous in hand last year. So please take the time to run their info on irs.gov to be sure you enter the correct check amount they received.
Look at line 70 on Form 1040. A rebate may be available if the taxpayer was eligible for more stimulus than they received.
