Since the stimulus upgrade for 2007 proseries came in the latter part of the season, any returns done prior to this upgrade must be opened in 2007 program and resaved prior to transfer to 2008, this will carry the stimulus figure from 2007 carry over worksheet to the 2007 one!! THE QUESTION IS IS THERE ANY WAY TO SAVE ALL YOUR 2007 CLIENT IN BATCH OR ALL AT ONCE WITHOUT GOING ONE AT A TIME??
What you're saying is news to me...I haven't yet run into this issue. I don't know of any way to batch save, but you might check and see if a batch backup and restore would do the trick. ~Chuck
I never thought of that. Last year, when that stimulus thing happened and the program changed, I changed my instruction letter to include the info for future returns, and I actually went back to the returns previously completed and mailed them the notice also printed by the system. I only had 10-15 or so, but I can look up to see which ones in 2007 preceded the change and look at the 2008 files to see if I have the same problem. I will let you know.
And I still mess up. Try opening just the pre-software change returns, justr re-save them, and then re-pro-forma those ones. The change from last year should be in it.
