When you tranfer the 2007 tax data to the 2008 program, it transfers the estimated 2008 Economic Stimulus Tax Rebate. If the 2007 program estimated that the taxpayer was going to receive a rebate it transfer the estimated amount. If the 2007 program calculated that the taxpayer did not qualify for the rebate it transfer $0.00 (zero rebate).

It the testing I did, it did transfer the estimated rebate - if a dollar amount was estimated it transferred the estimated amount. If zero was estimated it transferred zero.

If you completed the 2007 return before the stimulus update then the program never calculated a stimulus payment. If you open last years files before you carry them to 2008, the 2007 program will then calculate the rebate. Save the 2007 file then import to 2008.

since the stimulus upgrade for 2007 proseries came in the latter part of the season, any returns done prior to this upgarde must be opened in 2007 program and resaved prior to trnsfer to 2008, this will carry the stimuls figure from 2007 carry over worksheet to the 2007 one!! THE QUESTION IS IS THERE ANY WAY TO SAVE ALL YOUR 2007 CLIENT IN BATCH OR ALL AT ONCE WITHOUT GOING ONE AT A TIME??
