600 Stap TSP643 parallel port willnot work with current driver on Win 7 64 bit PC - is driver available and/or is replacemnt new USB Star printer from Intuit avaailable with Win 7 64 bit driver ?
hahaha! this program is such a piece. we have windows 7 64 bit os with a star tsp100. we were told to upgrade to the cash register 2010 because it was better than the 2009 and all the kinks are fixed... boy oh boy were they wrong!! we wish we could go back to our 2009 cash register! at least our receipt printer and laserjet worked without having to switch them manually!!! i had to talk to a supervisor and he still couldn't make anything work with our receipt printer. 3 weeks ago he said he would call us back and guess what... STILL NO PHONE CALL!!! good luck with everything. oh btw... they have no compatible driver. they are in the process of creating one... hopefully because that is what they told me....
As of 5/25/10, Intuit tells me that there are no plans to provide driver for Star TSP 643 printer either by them or by Star Microsystems. Star tells me that even with new driver it probably won't work with parallel port or with parallel to USB conversion.
Intuit convinced me to buy new Citizen printer but with another catch: new printer can't hook up to existing cash drawer, so had to but new drawer too... $351 later, waiting for hardware to see if it will actually work with Win 7 64 bit !
