Spouse is a mexican national and has not applied for ITIN yet. Is there a way of filing this electronically.

No. You must send the tax return with the ITIN application.

ITIN APPLICATION IS PROCESSED IN TEXAS AND THEN AFTER NUMBER IS ASSIGNED, FORWARDED FOR PROCESSING. CAN NOT FILE ELECTRONIC WITHOUT A VALID NUMBER.
