The Form 706 is able to be amended, yes, as well as the Schedule A-1. To trigger the return for amendedment, go to General Information screen 4 and check the box for "Amended return." It will be the first item in screen 4. This will print the words "Supplemental Information" across the top of the 706.
After triggering the return for amendement, you may go in to any screen in which you need to make changes. The program will alter the return according to your input.
Please note that the IRS requires a copy of the original Form 706, pages 1-3 to be submitted with the amended 706, per IRS Form 706 Instructions, pages 2 and 3.
