If you were one of those who completed an ap and paid but did not receive your PTIN----your application was listed as open----try signing on to your account again. Your PTIN may be there now. The software company did an upgrade over the weekend.
Here's another glitch...and I can't be the only one! I already had a PTIN for years...I thought i knew my User ID and password, but obviously I didn't. Then the website locked me out! i called IRS and they said to try again in 24 hours, but to ignore the login and create a whole new account. Then there would be a place for me to type in my PTIN. That login thing shouldn't even be there, since they're starting from scratch.
Liz, you know that this is a whole different system than E services right? You need a completely new user name and password for this process.
There is no place in the new system to enter your PTIN. You enter lots of other info and if the software can identify you, they will issue you the same PTIN you have always had.
Did mine late this afternoon so we will see what happens in the morning Status is "Open" tonight
Hopefully mine will update sometime today as it was late yesterday when I did it
