shrink file size
how can I shrink the size of my qb file. I archived it and still have 520mb. The accountantss copy is 52mb which I cannot email due to size restrictions.

You can send large files for free using www.sendthisfile.com and www.yousendit.com
But, you're right -- that file size is large. I'd recommend you update to 2012 (it's on sale for $100 on Amazon and Costco -- details and links here: http://longforsuccess.com/2012... ). The condense feature has been improved in 2012 (vs. 2011 and older years which had problems with it). Then, you can use the condense feature to create a smaller file with just the last year or so of data.

Thanks....I do have 2012 Pro. I did archive everything except 2010 & 2011. I guess i'll have to continue using a thumb drive.

There are many ways to send large files -- www.sendthisfile.com or Dropbox or SugarSync or client portals like ShareFile or LeapFile.

The client portals (ShareFile and LeapFile) are very secure (SAS 70 or something like that -- CPAs use them). The security of the others vary -- check their websites for details.
