showing deposits on job quotes and calculating tax

QuickBooks Canada : Pro 2012

we often get deposits on job quotes- is there a way to haev the invoice calculate the entire amount of tax IE 1200.00 job- dep of 400- but tax must be calculated on the 1200. & still be able to show the "credit" of the deposit on the final invoice?

The solution

When you are making up your invoice make sure that the item you setup for your deposit is not taxable. That way the tax will calculate on the full $ 1,200.00 and the $ 400.00 deposit will not affect your tax.
