Important Announcement! A planned system-wide upgrade will take place over the Memorial Day Weekend in the US (From Thurs, May 24, 2012 at 6 pm PDT thru Tues, May 29, 2012 at 5 am PDT). This includes QuickBooks, QuickBooks Payroll, Point of Sale, & Salesforce.com. This is only for US based products. This does not affect QuickBooks Online customers! During this time, you can shop, but can’t place orders online, activate products or update account info. We apologize for the inconvenience & thank you for patience while we improve our infrastructure to better serve you. International versions are unaffected. For more info, see our community discussion.

Show undeposited funds on balance sheet with bank account total.

How can the Undeposited Funds account show up with the Bank Account balances on the Balance Sheet?

My desire is to show cash I have on hand (Undeposited Funds account) to show up with my other Bank (cash) accounts.

Solved!

The solution

You can group or roll up accounts using Intuit Statement Writer -- so you can show Cash & Cash Equivalents.  You can't do it with a regular QuickBooks report.

Please post additional questions or else click SOLVED. Thanks!

IF QuickBooks would allow us to change the Undeposited Funds account to be a bank account type, we could make it a sub account to your bank account and I think it would work out the way you want it to.  HOWEVER, Michelle is right.  This is a good suggestion to make to Intuit, actually.  I don't know why Undeposited funds couldn't be a bank type of account.

That is a good idea -- if lots of us submit it, maybe it will get changed.  Within QuickBooks, go to File>Submit Feedback Online>Product Suggestion to submit it.  They really do monitor the suggestions submitted.
