show split transaction details for each line item in reports
How does one show split transaction details for each line item in reports - without having the expense account summarized, with the word split' or 'multiple' appearing? Example: Let's say I purchased a $400 desk and a $200 chair at the same time, and I recorded the $600 credit card charge, and split it, using two lines of 'Office Furniture', including detailed memo entries describing what each of the line items was for. When I run the P&L detail or other detail-type reports, however, only one summarized line appears for 'Office Furniture', for $600, with the word 'split' showing. This is not useful, as there are many occasions where I need to review what each line item was for. While I can double-click on the report to expose the underlying transaction, this is not an efficient method for large numbers of these types of transactions. Also, when the report has been exported to Excel, there is obviously nothing to double-click. Bottom line: Is there a way to get QB to report out each seperate line item that had been entered in the split windows, instead of summarizing accounts that had been entered more than once?
