Shadowing a QB Proadvisor

I am a new ProAdvisor member and just passed my QB 2010 certification. I am a CPA coming out of private industry and it has been a long time since I have used QB on a regular basis. Is there a shadowing program with other Proadvisors in your area?

I'm not aware of a shadowing program.  However, if you would like to find other ProAdvisors in your area, go to www.findaproadvisor.com  You might also consider contacting small accounting firms in your area.  Maybe you could work for someone during busy season.

HI there!

I love this idea!  Would you be willing to email me directly to help me learn more about what you would want in such a program?  alison_ball@intuit.com

Many times I think I need help and then don't know where to get it from. Please let me know if you find out any solution to this problem. As Michelle is saying you could try local Pro Advisors, but again it depends ...... and I think there should be accounting support 24/7 on Intuit to help people like you and me.

Alison, Please read what I have written and It will give you an idea what will be good from Intuit to help new people like me and other to help after certification. I think there should be Accounting call /chat support  like Tech Support from Intuit to help new certified members. Certification is great, but it will be grand if accounting support is offered. After all the certification is about the accounting software and from time to time or all the time new members need help.

Hi Adityak,

i understand that you want more support on accounting issues - Intuit does create the software to be in compliance with GAAP, but we also feel that ProAdvisors (especially those who are CPA's) may be the best source of advice on actual accounting issues and questions..

To that end, here are some great (free) places to get help (maybe try these places if our own tech support folks don;t know the answer?)

1) Ask the actual ProAdvisor Community - some folks are very generous with their advice, and genuinely love seeing others succeed.  Community is now a part of the program itself, so you can ask at will during you work day.  Of course if you ask, you should also try and answer any questions that you can (once you feel confident enough to do that.)

2) you can join chat boards for organizations like the American Institute of Professional Bookkeepers (AIPB) - many certified ProAdvisors are members, and they love to answer people's questions.

3) you can join Linked In Groups like Michelle Longs "Long for Success" group - again, a rich source of questions and answers.

But rest assured we will also take your suggestions into account.  Its just that we don't always have all the answers, and our Certified ProAdvisors may be able to better help you.

Alison
