I don't know if you finally got this resolved but I posted a response in this same forum that may help you.

can anyone confirm whether there is a charge for the first 50 returns when using proseries basic or is it a pay per return system.

If you purchased the Basic program no charge it's only if you purchased only the license and are doing the Pay per return program. On the Basic the only thing you pay for after the 50 is the efile. You can prepare the return and mail is at no charge.

Thank you. For your Quick Response. Have you heard any more about the delay for e-filing returns using any forms that may be effected by the AMT adjustment I have quite a few clients wanting to efile but the system is refusing them. What's up?

If you are efiling a return with Child Care Credit you can use form 1040 and 2441 this will efile just fine. As of today you can efile Education Credits

I just e-filed and found that for the first fifty returns if you e-file there is $3 for Fed and $2 for each state. After the first fifty, there is a pay-per-return in addition to the e-file fee.

Am I wrong?

That is correct. Its the Probasic package you bought. Thats the reason for the PPR charges.

I guess I am a cheap one --- but for the most part it did the job fine. The real issue for me was that there is no .pdf support ( most of my clients are in Calif while I am in MI and do my return prep by e-mail ). But have cracked that nut -- not an elegant solution but sufficient.
