Server/domain controller failure. QBE 7 is running. Users can't open databases. Is there a quick permissions fix?
A server/domain controller failure has left QBE 7 data safe but untouchable. Our users can't open them, because they can no longer see that directory.
QBE server manager is always running on server #2, and QBE database files are also always on server #2. Is there a quick permissions fix?
[Later . . .] We were also unable to map a drive to the shared folder that holds QBE data. Although we could neither browse to the folder nor map driectly to it using \\servername\sharename, we *could* map to it by replacing the server's name with its IP address. (So \\192.168.0.1\sharename worked.) And after mapping the shared folder that way, users could read and write to the QBE company files.
We know that authentication is kind of broken, due to the other server failure. I'm not sure yet what to think of this workaround.
