If I email a ProSeries pdf copy of a tax return, is it protected over the internet?

It the same as any other file that you send over the internet. No Pdf file is encrypted.

You can password-protect a PDF file using various programs/apps out there. The one I use is called PDFTools.

On January 1, 2009, the 7216 Final Regulations went into effect. These new Regs significantly restrict the use and disclosure of information you receive from a tax client.
