Schedule D - Recording multiple stock sales

How do I record multiple stock sales on Schedule D?  Do I record the average number of shares purchased, the total amount of proceeds, and the total amount paid for them?  Or do I have to list each transaction?

 List each transaction.

If I wanted phone calls, my phone number would be in my profile. If you have a question, post it in the applicable forum.

In the ProSeries Profession there is a box just above Part I,  a statement with stock details for each transaction is attached.  This statement needs to have the same information as required by Schedule D and needs to be broken down between short term and long term transactions.

Each transaction still needs to be listed.

When there are multiple transactions, I attach the broker's detail of gains/losses, and carry four subtotals forward to Sch D:  STCG, STCL, LTCG, LTCL.  As long as the individual gains and losses are calculated on the broker's statement, I've never had one bounce -- even if the format is not identical to Sch D, as the IRS insists it must be. YMMV.
