Saving column width changes via memorized reports?

When I make column width changes to Profit and Loss and Balance Sheet reports which are already memorized I memorize the reports again. Quickbooks says something like "do you want to replace the current Memorized report" and I say yes. The next time I bring up the report the column widths do not reflect the changes I had previously made. The built in help tells me to do it the way I did. What is is the proper way?

Hello djmear, welcome to the forums. When you change a column width in a report, you may see the message: "Set all columns to be the same size as this one?" If you choose Yes (to set all columns to the same customized size), and then memorize the report, the column widths are memorized along with the report. If you choose No, the widths will not be memorized if you memorize the report. Note: Some reports will not offer this message after changing the width of a column.

If the report has multiple columns of data, changed widths are usually memorized. One exception is the Time Activity Detail report. It has multiple columns, but customized widths will not be memorized. If the report has only one column of data, changes to the column width will not be memorized. Report columns have a minimum memorized width. The minimum is whatever width is required to show the full column header at the top of the report. If you decrease the column width below the minimum, the memorized report width will revert to the minimum.

I hope that helps,
Amy

I am having the same problem. I do monthly statements for clients which are the same format every month. I go to the next month, change the date and the columns go back to their original position. Same thing when I make a change and refresh the report. It is very time consuming and frustrating. I have reported the situation to Quickbooks twice now. If I get an answer or figure out how to fix it I will let you know.
