S-corp filing ready yet?
When will S-Corp forms be ready for efile?
When will S-Corp forms be ready for efile?

Whenever IRS approves Lacerte for those forms. If you're dying to do an 1120S right now, you can get onto IRS.gov, and fill in the fillable forms from the Lacerte printout that says "do not file."

As with all forms that say DO NOT FILE right next to them is a link to check on status details. That will tell you as much as any guess you will get from us here. Generally updates are late Wednesday or on Thursday. Best Guess - the next issue.
Right. And if next week isn't good enough for you, you can "do your own thing" on IRS's website and get it done right now, today.

19.
Thanks. Originally, I hoped that Lacerte would post a firm date here.

Checked the IRS website today [1/23/12]. They don't have the 2011 instructions posted for 2011. 24 years in the business and we still don't perpare/sign a tax return until everyone in the firm annually reads several documents pertaining to the particular tax; the IRS instructions are one of the required readings.
This firm doesn't intend to sign an 1120S until the imperial government has finished their preparation for a proper return. Can make for a short season!

Still not there, your customers are very angry and frustrated, that it is the end of January and we do not have the ability to complete tax returns. There were not even any significant tax law changes last year.
NO, Just beacuse the federal is there does not mean we can file returns. The states must be available too.
Jan 26th and cant do idaho s-corp!!!!!! last year of lacerte for me!!! tired of supporting them with the use of my dollars to have them delvelope turbo tax to compete with me.
Your dollars and how we spend them do nothing to expidite the release of the form instructions. Form will be released (assuming you mean the 41S) on the next update (Wed). Really sorry for the delay.....
This is the first year we are able to e-file Idaho business returns, I am thankful we have that available. Some states returns are still waiting.
hey guru, i know my dollars are not being spent on tech support, timely product releases. The instruction excuse is lame. Being at a minimum one week behind in form updates because of your "schedule" of updating only once per week is beyond good business sense.
With every price increase, seems the turbo tax line of products get larger, and so does its marketing.
If it were not so late in the year (from a tax practice standpoint), i would get a refund. I have already narrowed down your replacement. for next year.

I suspect if anyone wants to e-file Federal and wait for the state, you can create 2 separate files out of the one file. On the first file, check off that you're e-filing Federal only. Go ahead and e-file it and you're done with that part of it.
On the 2nd file, check off that you're e-filing for State only. When Lacerte and the state are ready, you can then e-file the state as a stand-alone. At least, this works with 1040's; I am just assuming (I know, I know, never assume anything) it works with 1120S's.
There's no need to create multiple files in either scenario. Just file what you want to file.

This is no longer acceptable. Out firm's productivity to date is down over 50% from 2010 tax season when the forms were released in mid january. It's almost February and I still can't print my S Corps.
And Amy-in-PA, no disrepect intended because I know you are only trying to help, but we don't need patches, temporary fixes and work-a-rounds, we need a finished product that actually works.
Maybe if enough of us complain we'll be heard.
Amen. I will be looking for new software next year. I am already talking to other CPA firms in our area. At this point know that several other firms in our area have left Lacerte, due to high prices and being behind on development of the product.
i have done my research and am very happy to say this is my last year!! Was a good product before Intuit. Intuit has screwed me long enough.
