Restoring deleted Lacerte file
Just did a tax return and was cleaning up my database. Apparently I selected the file and deleted it. Is there anyway to get the work back?

I'm so sorry, Gene, but I don't know of any way to get the work back once you've deleted it. If you had backed it up beforehand, you could use the "restore" function to get back the file you'd backed up. (If that file was a partially-done return without final figures, at least you wouldn't have to reinput the whole thing from scratch to re-create your file.)
You may even wish to re-input from your paper printout, everything that you had done, so that you'll have an electronic copy for your records. (And you'll back it up to a "stick disk" or something immediately, won't you?)
Every so often, you may even wish to back up your whole database to a "stick disk" before you "clean it up" from your hard disk -- just in case. Then if you notice that one of the files you cleaned off, was one you'd wanted to keep, you can restore it easily.
Thank goodness your accidental deletion was on only one file.
I haven't actually used this program, but Download.com editors seam to like this:
