Remove Quickbooks completely
I would like to know how to uninstall Quickbooks completely from a PC, i.e. clear all entries from folders and registry that Quickbooks install creates but uninstall does not get rid of.

As with any Windows program, the correct way is to use the provided uninstall utility. If you know how to interrogate the registry, then you can remove connected keys (after backing the registry up, of course). Otherwise, you could use a product such as ccleaner. This is not a job for the faint-hearted, though.
Thanks for the reply, if i uninstall using add remove programs then it leaves folders and registry entries all over the place, this then means that when we need to do a clean install we cannot as the setup can see existing keys, etc.
Is there not a tool or guide with what keys need to be deleted, folders deleted etc?
Regards.
Chris
Chris,
You are referring to a "clean" uninstall of QuickBooks. Please follow the FAQ listed here for the steps. As for registry keys in Windows, we do not recommend you go in and delete these entries as it can do serious harm to your Windows operating system if the wrong keys are deleted. We recommend that you leave the registry entries to a professional, such as a IT personal or computer technician.
i just upgraded from 07 to 10 but now see that 07 does not appear in add/remove. how do i uninstall qbs 07?
QuickBooks 2010 replaces your previous copy when you choose to upgrade during install. There's no need to uninstall the old copy.
