It's best to start with the first non-reconciled month, then reconcile at month at a time (this makes it easier to locate discrepancies if you have any).
You can reconcile, e.g., a year at a time (entering the ending balance from the latest bank statement) but as noted above, if you encounter a discrepancy it is harder to pin down.
