Rates per form error - When will it be fixed?

ProSeries

Rates per form error - When will it be fixed?

Keep getting error message "Form description-121 has too many characters"

I just delete the Form but I can't change the template under Tools, Billing, Rates per Form - I think ProSeries needs to fix permanently.... anybody else figure out how to make it go away so I don't have to fix it everytime?

I had that problem last week, but it seems to have gone away.  Try updating your program and see it that resolves the problem.

It's the 1040 form worksheet for a K-1 from estates for year 2010.  It may be fixed.  I realize any changes to the rates per form only show up on returns that transfer AFTER the change.  I'll post back if I still see it on more recently transferred returns.

Here's the item that's "too long"

Schedule K-1-Estates and Trust - 2010

And it's still showing up on returns we transferred as recently as 2/4

When you're doing your error checking and the rates per form window pops up, find the item, delete 1 space and hit save.  In the future, when checking for errors, the window will pop up showing as an override, but all you have to do is hit Escape to continue.  You won't have to make an adjustment on each return.

Thanks Alice,

I've sent it to the developers and support gurus. There is a fix in the pipeline. I don't know yet when it will be available in the updates.

The gurus give a similar workaround to Sandy's:

  1. on the client billing page, click the quickzoom to go to the global rates per form, find the offending one and make it shorter.

Dave

Dave its the form 121 error

the update does not fix files that were transferred prior to the fix-think there was 10 days from when it occured to the update--any that were transferred have to be corrected individually--just found another today with the error active

i don't remember the update date--know that files i currently transfer do not have the error

If I am busy doing nothing--how do I know when I'm done?????????
