RAL Check Amounts Differ from ProSeries Calculations

A word of caution. I've printed only 1 RAL check so far, but the amount printed on the check turned out to be $713.03, whereas according to ProSeries (and my own manual calculation), it should have been $713.99.I know exactly what caused this, but until it's corrected, be aware that the system will short your clients by something around a dollar, give or take.I'll try to report this to SBBT, but I know the bank will say call ProSeries, and of course ProSeries will say it's a bank problem. Fasten your seatbelts, folks.PS: I think (but am not sure) that this will occur only on checks under $1,000, including clients who opt for the "low-cost" RALs.

My client check was in the correct amount but the client name did not print. Proseries says "We're working on it. Do you know any more about this?

There were several posts today about the names not printing on RAL checks. Mine printed the name ok. I don't know why mine worked and others didn't. I think enough people complained that ProSeries knows it's a widespread, serious problem. It will probably be fixed overnight. If anyone does find a solution or workaround, I'm sure he or she will post it.

It would have been nice if these problems hadn't occurred at all, but in the past ProSeries has always been pretty quick to fix these kinds of glitches.

I printed one RAL Sunday, everything printed correct. The amount was under $1000.

Thanks for the response. Maybe my first RAL check was an anomaly and the problem won't recur. The problem is that I won't know until I process and print another RAL check because the discrepancy did not show up until I printed the actual RAL check. Up until then, all of the figures matched (mine, ProSeries, and SBBT). But when the RAL check came out of the printer, the bank fee had increased. It's not that big a deal in only one instance, and it may already have been fixed. It's just a little embarrassing for the contract to tell the client he's being charged one amount, then for the check to short him by $0.93. I don't want to have to make up that dollar shortfall for 200 RAL clients this year. Hopefully it was just one of those things that'll never happen again. Thanks again for the response.

Are clients not allowed to apply for a RAL if they only have a 1099 Misc for income?
