R6 manual patch for QBES 7.0 now available

The R6 manual patch for QuickBooks 2007/Enterprise 7.0 is now live. You can download it from here [ http://quickbooks.com/support/... ] . If you have the time, please take the R6 survey. This helps us gather data to improve the installation experience.The release notes detailing what is fixed in this patch are available here [ http://quickbooks.com/support/... ] .There are several fixes for performance issues in this patch. If you are having performance issues, please install this patch on all of your computers, as well as the server. To check the version on the server-only install, open the QuickBooks Database Server Manager and go to the Updates tab. If the version says R6.2616, then you are on the R6 patch. If not, then you need to run the patch on the server-only install. Note that this might require a reboot on the server.After installing R6, if you are still having performance issues, please post again with the specifics of your performance problem.Thanks,Nic“Please remember that this is a User-to-User community forum. I waited for the automatic update to hit. What a trainwreck! Got ambushed by this thing on client, which went smoothly, but the server is still generating errors every time I try to launch the QB App, and trying to complete some sort of installation.
The first error I encountered was during the update - failed to register some files. The QB Support for the error said to ignore it and run reboot.bat in the QB folder. But after ignoring that message the installer locked me into a "will reboot now, click OK" message. Rebooted, ran the batch file, and now this new error. The database manager service was apparently updated successfully, but I had to start it manually just so I can get my users back up and running for the time being. To top it all off, quickbooks.com is down so I can't even download the update and reinstall manually.
Again I have to say, the entire idea of a server installation is woefully lacking in support, documentation, and consideration in general. Please, get this problem fixed. Sorry, but I've just wasted a couple hours on something that shouldn't even be a problem at all. It still isn't right. I'm pissed.
