Important Announcement! A planned system-wide upgrade will take place over the Memorial Day Weekend in the US (From Thurs, May 24, 2012 at 6 pm PDT thru Tues, May 29, 2012 at 5 am PDT). This includes QuickBooks, QuickBooks Payroll, Point of Sale, & Salesforce.com. This is only for US based products. This does not affect QuickBooks Online customers! During this time, you can shop, but can’t place orders online, activate products or update account info. We apologize for the inconvenience & thank you for patience while we improve our infrastructure to better serve you. International versions are unaffected. For more info, see our community discussion.

Quicken 2011 causes problems with Lacerte. Lacerte don't open.

Lacerte

Warning - Quicken 2011 causing problems with Lacerte. With the 2011 Quicken progam opened, Lacerte would not load. Kept getting an exe file error.
Uninstalled the 2011 program Lacerte 2010 worked fine.

1. Click the Windows Start button and choose Run (In Windows 7 or Vista, Start > All Programs > Accessories > Run).
2. In the Open field, enter the full path for the folder that contains the file and click OK. (For example, if the file mentioned is C:\Program Files\Intuit\QuickBooks Point of Sale X.0\dataimporter.exe enter C:\Program Files\Intuit\QuickBooks Point of Sale X.0 in the field.)
3. In the new window, choose View > Customize this folder.
4. In the Properties window, click the Security tab and click Advanced.
5. In the Name column, double-click Administrators.
6. In the next window, select the Allow checkbox next to Full Control and click OK.
7. Repeat steps 5 through 7 for the SYSTEM user.
8. Click OK in the Advanced window and again in the Properties window.
9. Install Point of Sale.

Try this might help. If it just shows that it is installing something time & again you can stop the Windows installer service from the "msconfig"

1. Click on Start

2. Go to Run

3. Type msconfig & then press OK

4. Under "Services" tab you will find Windows installer service, Uncheck it

5. Restart your computer & try to access the Quicken 2011.

That is ok if you don't need any help. I thought you asked a question & I just replied to it.

Thanks for the warning, Ray.  I was hesitant to install my free copy of Quicken2011 for other reasons, so now this adds fuel to the flame.  Quicken99 ain't broke, so I won't fix it!

Back up before it's too late. For a professional answer, call Tech Support at 1-800-933-9999 (Lacerte)(other numbers ProSeries, QB, or TurboTax). I am a volunteer, not compensated or supported by Intuit.
