QuickBooks won't load

I've had QB PRO 2006 installed for about a year with no problems. I have a HP N7250M Media Center PC which I recently had to do a PC recovery. After the recovery I installed all the HP and Window updates and uninstall and reinstall QB. Now when I go to load QB I get the "QuickBooks Loading...." message and in a few seconds it goes away and nothing happens. I go into task manager and it shows QB loading then ends. I have Adobe 8.0,NET Frameworks 2.0 and IE 6. I can use help from anyone who knows a way to resolve this.

I just experienced this with Quickbooks pro 2007. It was running fine until I changed internet providers. I went with Comcast Cable which includes a McAfee suite. I think that has something to do with it because when I did a system restore back to a time prior to that, it worked again. Does anyone know how to temporarily disable McAfee to see if that is the problem?

Have you fixed the problem if so how? I have uninstalled/reinstalled and tried to patch and nothing has seemed to work. Even the computer tech I had look at it had no idea what to do.

thanks

Did you ever get your problem fixed? I am having the same problem, which occured after I did a system recovery. Now QB 2007 won't open. Says it loading and sits there and then disappears.

Need to run my company - can't this way!

Hate to resurrect an old thread like this. Sometime last night, my computer here at the office crashed. I did a cold boot when I arrived this morning, and everything works fine except for QB 2006 Premier. I kept getting errors -6000 and -832 every time I tried to access our data file. Looked up -6000 (could not find -832) and it suggested that having the data file on a server or remote drive (it isn't) was the problem.

I copied the data file to another local drive, but it still wont load - either it just locks/hangs or I get the same -6000 and -832 errors. Wont even let me restore a backup or access a portable file.

I copied the data files to CD and did a clean install of QB on another computer; took some time, but it finally loaded the database. Did an immediate new back up, copied that to disk, did a complete uninstall and reinstall of QB on my machine and it will not open the new back up file. My machine is not set to automatically update, I am running XP Pro SP3.

Any help, hints, suggestions would be most greatly appreciated.

Had to do a PC recovery (virus) and could not get Quick books to load afterward. Did an uninstall and new installatiion (QB2008 Pro) and get Error Code 00651 07217 after QB seems to load but gives message that an error has occured and must shut down. Does anyone have any idea how to solve this problem??
