Hey there leesy_7! The answer is a glaring YES! There are many notable differences, and when choosing between the two, you really have to decide what is important to you. They are both valuable tools and great products, but you really have to know what you want out of your accounting software before you choose.

Here are a couple sites that shows the features of each:

http://quickbooks.intuit.com/p...

http://oe.quickbooks.com/compa...

With Online Plus, you get the security of having your data in a professional data center. You can access it from anywhere and you never have to worry about backups or redundancy, etc. It is also very easy to give other employees and accountants access to your account. The Online Payroll and Merchant Account Services (if you choose to add them) are very easy to use, providing just what you need to get the job done. Online is especially great for retailers and smaller businesses because it is easy and accessible.

If you want something more industry-specific and online access isn't necessary for you, or if you have a large number of customers/employees, then you might consider going Pro or Premier.

The new 2009 version of Pro has some GREAT new enhancements and features and is very intuitive when it comes to customizing invoices, customizing reports and managing your information. While a larger investment, is only a one-time investment (but chances are you will want to upgrade in a couple years). 2009 also includes the new Live Community which allows you to ask questions in this forum right in the product. Your upgrade options are also greater with Payroll, Point-of-Sale etc.

Yes! There are many differences and I highly recommend demo-ing both before you choose!

If you have questions about specific needs/features, I can try to help you out!

Happy shopping! :-D

I am a user of quickbooks pro 2007. My bank has been changed from Lasalle Bank to Bank of America. I want to download my transactions from my online banking with Bank of America to Quickbooks. Unable to do so because of the Name change. How do I change my current bank register name to the new name ?
