I can't download my banking transactions from QB premier 2008 as of 6/1/11. Is that because it was sunsetted?

I have the same problem in Pro 2008. The error message actually implies that it is not sunsetting. If it is sunsetting it is a very misleading message. What's the deal Intuit??? My bank is Chase.
I also have this problem in Pro 2008 importing from BofA. The web connect file is still being created with the correct data. If this is a sunsetting issue requiring us to update to 2011, please let us know. If so, its monumentally unfair.
I agree totally... I also see, as I read through the posts, that there are problems with the upgrade, especially if you have years of data. Taking away functionality that you have paid for after the fact is bogus. Microsoft always has translaters so that you can read in newer files if you don't want to upgrade. I will consider other software if I am forced to upgrade.

Yes, online banking feature will no longer work in QB2008. You will need to upgrade to continue to use it.
I'm having the same problem with all my accounts, and I'm using QB2009. Is this version also no longer supported?
I have the same problem.....AND....I understand that my Quickbooks Pro 2009 will no longer accept online downloads of transactions. My Wells Fargo account only supported IIF files for many years, so I downloaded IIF files and manually loaded them into Quickbooks OFFLINE. I don't have much experience with QBO files. Is it true that I CANNOT download QBO files and manually load them into Qucikbooks manually ???
I upgraded as instructed and my banking transactions are not working at all. QB 2011 is crashing when it goes to view my financial insitution. I'm seeing a lot of this same problem being reported. How do I resolve it?
Thanks.
I have QB pro 2011 and I have this very same issue. Has anyone found a resolution to this? The bank points the finger at QB, and QB says the bank is at fault.
We are all suffering the same problem. After many years of using QB and patienly doing all the workarounI seriously looking at converting to waveaccounting.com for my personal and small business needs...It's FREE and it works!
We have QB pro 2010 and were having the same problem. I called QB. We have Bank of America for banking and live in California. BofA made a change and I had to change the Online Banking so instead of saying BofA - California it said BofA - All other States. Not sure how many of you this will help, but hopefully a few. Good luck!
Nice to know that just because Intuit sunsets supoort for a product, they break online banking to force users to upgrade or use another product. The stopping of online banking has nothing to do with product support but more to do with breaking existing functionallity to generate revenue
I agree. The worst is that they use to be very customer oriented, wanting to help the small business sector. This has everything to do with trying to force people. I understand if they decide not to support older version, but to completely disconnect something that works great. After we paid good money for basic functionality? I sign up probably 10- 22 people a year on QBs, but that won't happen any more. There are other good software packages, that work fantastic. I am in the process now of changing many of them over.
Please read this article from Intuit. The error message is what they made for $$.

"The stopping of online banking has nothing to do with product support"
I think it helps to remember that the banking functions get constant security updates driven from the banking end, not the Intuit QB end.
Further, the issues of compatiility with Windows XP, Vista, W7 and soon W8, along with IE 6, 7, 8, 9, and Firefox, Chrome, Opera, etc, mean not every program will work with every function for all time.
And consider all the ways we send email now.
So, even though it might not be convenient for us, I can't see any reason not to set a policy of three-years. Computer "dog years" is considered to be 18-months, so Intuit has selected a two-generation cycle.
"they break online banking to force users to upgrade or use another product"
Even though I may still own a Subaru, the 15" rim and tires from 1998 no longer fit the Subaru I own now.
That is no reason for me to accuse them of forcing me to buy a new car.
You can keep using older QB programs as long as you don't care about the areas of functionality no longer supported. The program still runs.

I respectfully disagree - software life cycle is really should be functionality driven and if a vendor decides to discontinue support they can do this; if existing functionality is broken by a third party then upgrade can be required, but this is not the case; the bank stated it is Intuit that stopped online banking from working not the bank

Again I respectfully disagree - not the same thing I’m not trying to put old tires on a new car, just trying to use a product that I purchased and Intuit forced the stoppage of this functionality not a change introduced by third party vendor
“You can keep using older QB programs as long as you don't care about the areas of functionality no longer supported. The program still runs.”
I agree that I can still use the product but I disagree with stopping functionality by forcing a break. Make me want to upgrade because real added functionality or because of a bug that you will not fix because of 2 year support moth balle3d product
.
John, you are not the only customer. QB 2009 barely loads on W7 and does not run consistently. To quote you:
"software life cycle is really should be functionality driven "
Well, if installation failure due to W7 is not a good enough consideration for Intuit not to attempt to support every program for ever, then perhaps you should ask Intuit and Microsoft to learn to play well together. Because they don't seem to be listening to anyone else that I know of.
When it stops working because the banks upgrade is one thing, but the software company shouldn't have control if we decide to continue using a product longer than 3 years. Many products including computers are not completely outdated for 8 - 10. They are playing games with people that are trying to do the right thing and keep up with their data, but can't afford much more.
Also you apparenlty don't work on alot of different versions, because it works fine with Windows 7 or DID. You have to know how to be flexible...
