Quickbooks Data Tracking Capabilities

US QuickBooks Premier : 2012: Contractor

Can Quickbooks track all the data I need?  I'm a swimming pool contractor & want to track the following type of info:

Division (California, Nevada, etc): Perhaps can use CLASS field?

Revenue Type (pool resurfacing, tile, plumbing, excavation, etc): Assume these are ITEMS...

Customer Type (residential, commercial, etc): Which field?

Work Type (In-House, Subcontractor, etc): Which field?

Product Type (pool, spa, fountain,etc): Which field?

Job Type (New, remodel,etc): Which field?

Source (ineternet, yellow pages, friend);

I'm pretty familiar with Quickbooks, but not sure which fields I would use for these. I know there are alot of smart people on this forum.  Any help would be appreciated.  Also, would Premier be ok given this info, or would I be better off with Enterprise?  Thanks!

 Classes would solve the Division need. Income accounts would solve the Revenue Type.

You can create Customer Types on the Additional Info tab. You can create custom fields for use. see article

 Thanks. That is helpful. But can I run a P&L or get revenue/sales data by these various categories and custom fields?  For example:

Revenue for all TILE work done on a FOUNTAIN for COMMERCIAL customers who found us via INTERNET where we used SUBCONTRACT labor?

(Capital letters represent different data I'm tracking...)

or,

P&L for all COMMERCIAL Customers where we worked on a SPA?

Thanks again!
