I have a similar problem. Been runing QB 2006 Small Bus on our server & two work stations. Purchased two lic of QB 2009 from Costco to upgrade. Installed two full ver on both workstations & the database only on our server. Now can't open QB 2009 at all & QB 2006 is gone. ON BOTH Work Stations! I get a application error: AppName: qbw32.exe AppVer: 19.0.4001.7403 ModName: msvcr80.dll ModVer.8.0.50727.1433 Offset: 00014584

Called Intuit support in INDIA-tech person worked with me for 2.5 hours uninstalling & reinstalling QB, MSVCR, everything he could think of to do. Now he thinks I have a corruped user (doubtfull because same problem is on two different workstations with different users) But he says I hafe to be moved to level 2 tech support but before I do that I have to create a new user & go through all that mess again to see if that will make QB work again!! I hate updating software. Anyone else have this problem???

I am running VISTA. No problem before with QB 2007 & 2008. Now 2009 stops running about every other usage and I have to restart. Now my 2007 is opening VERY slow! I repaired 2007 without any change. I am getting a corrupted recycle bin! Very frustrating! I am a LONG time QB Pro/Proadvisor. Never had problems like these before...fortunately I haven't actually lost data (yet).

I had the same problem, I rebooted my computer and that has taken care of it. Running on Windows XP Pro with SP3.

Same prob Cheryl. I have many more hours trying all the things they will try with you and still no results. They finally told me to get my own local tech to install it. Now that's service and support. Good luck if you proceed.

I would suggest running the reboot.bat file. You can find the file in C:\Program Files\Intuit\QuickBooks 200x. Double-click the file and let it run. Once the window closes, try to open QuickBooks again.

I recently installed SBS2008 and tried to run Quickbooks 2007 Premier (both DB and QB07). When I launched it, I received the same message. I saw the suggestion of the reboot.bat (..\program files\intuit\quickbooks\reboot.bat), ran the program (mostly regsrv32 commands) and had the same issue. My issue, however, may be linked to the fact that I'm trying to run the application on a 64-bit platform. Has anyone been able to resolve this matter on SBS2008. I also noticed that the QBDBMgr runs (apparently without complaint).

pat201,

If you don't see it in the C:\Program Files\Intuit\Quickbooks folder, try using the Windows Search utility to look for "reboot.bat". It may be a hidden file that you won't see because of your Windows Explorer settings.

Hello Pat,

Welcome to the community forums. The reboot.bat file is in the QuickBooks installation folder, so when you installed QuickBooks if you chose to install in C:\Program Files\QuickBooks 2009 the reboot.bat file would be in the QuickBooks 2009 folder.

Let us know if you aren't able to find it.

Respectfully,

Bryan

Ok for those of you using 64bit windows server 2008 I have no answer; but this may work.

The the rest of you using windows or windows server XP/2000/2003/Vista...

Simply do this: find DEP <----

it is under system settings and click to allow qbw.exe & download the latest QB update and allow it via DEP.

Once you allow the update to run with DEP off and you reboot you are all set.  Also after the reboot I recommend opening a command prompt and navigate to: C:\Program Files\Intuit\QuickBooks 200X <--- where X is the version you are using.  Then execute the reboot.bat file and you should be done...

Anyways if you need help further email me at: albrightc@anrass.com  thank you

I am getting the same error. I've added qbw32 and qbw32pro to the DEP list. I've ran the reboot command. I am still getting an application error and the program is shutting down. I'm running Windows Server 2008 32bit version. Here is the error log:

Faulting application qbw32.exe, version 17.0.4012.564, time stamp 0x49ddac03, faulting module MSVCR80.dll, version 8.0.50727.3053, time stamp 0x4889d619, exception code 0xc000000d, fault offset 0x00047780, process id 0xf6c, application start time 0x01ca2d9749594713.
