Have you taken the QuickBooks ProAdvisor course online?

No, I have not. I need to get more information about it. I really need a hands-on kind of training.

Whatever QB training you choose, it will not train you to be a bookkeeper, accountant or an income tax specialist. So, if you don't have that expertise, you need training other than just QB training

I recently purchased the Premier Accountant edition and after gone through tutorials that comes with the program, I still have not gotten the confidence enough to know that when I get a new client for whatever industry, I can do it. Some local accountants here in town offer QB training, but I'm hesitant because I don't want to get a live version of the tutorials. Is the pro advisor program that more in depth? Also, the cost is somewhat pricey for a beginner, but......

The ProAdvisor course overviews how to use QuickBooks. The price includes software and many other resources . . . it is definitely worth the investment.

Whether or not this is sufficient for you needs really depends on your education and experience in using financial software programs, in accounting and bookkeeping, and in general business administration issues.

You might want to take a course from a local CPA and network with them for a while before going 'solo'. . .

Periodically qb gives courses on the use of qb. Check their web site.

Don't become a qb pro-advisor unless you are comfortable with using the program and know all the ins and out of it and computers.

I disagree w/ the previous post about not becoming a ProAdvisor.

I would say that if you were to set yourself up as a marketable 'ProAdvisor', you definitely should have the competency mentioned.

However, taking the course will not hurt you or anyone else. . .and it could be a stepping stone towards where you want to be. . .
