I am having trouble with QuickBooks 2009 and my Vista operating system working together. Are there patches to help with this? I cannot use the email option from QB. It goes into not responding mode. I then have to go to task manager and end program. When I open QB back up the printer default has been changed to PDF converter, etc.
First of all, let's make sure you are on the most current version. Press F2 in QB, you should be on R7 is the latest update. If you aren't on R7, the go to Help, Update QuickBooks and download the latest version, you will have to close and re-open QB after the update.
Next, go to Edit, Preferences, Send Forms and look which option is checked, Outlook or QuickBooks mail. Try QB mail and see if you have the same issue.
As far as the printer reverting, go to File, Printer Setup and select the correct printer for each form. It should not revert, otherwise there is a bigger issue here. Do any other programs do this or only QB?
I have R7 installed and was set to QB mail already. When I goto 'file' and 'printer setup', I get vista activity for about half a second and then nothing. This is the common situation. Unable to select 'file' 'print forms' 'invoices', as nothing happens again. However, I do get a print-out from 'File' 'print forms' 'labels'. I have not tested all the 'print form' options, but I know that 'invoices' does not print.
I'm unable to print to PDF & email-from within Quickbooks, whereas I can print to excel file to be mailed.
Need lots of help.
