QB2012 - just added custom fields - report only works for invoces with new fields filled in

US QuickBooks Enterprise Solutions : 12.0: Manufacturing and Wholesale

I have some questions about custom fields on inventory section:

I just added couple of custom fields to my current inventory - COLOR and SIZE.

However sales report filter only works for the invoices with new fields filled in.

1) Since I have tons of invoices to fix, is there any simple way to do?

2) Also any idea if adding new custom fields on 1G QB file will slow down performance - which is already slow?

3) Is it safe to add/delete fields on inventory any time?

Please advice. Thank you.

The solution

To update inovices it is one at a time unfortunatly

once used you can never delete anything in QB

Yes it probably will, more fields = more data in the file

You have enterprise 12, back up the file first, then use the menu File>utilities>condense and select the very bottom choice it says (period copy) in the (), select a date range, I would suggest 1/1/11 to now and create a new file anduse that going forward. Accept the defaults as you go through the process

If I've helped, mark it solved.
