QB2012 for Mac Receive Payment window tries to reapply payment

US QuickBooks for Macintosh : 2012

QB2012 for Mac, Receive Payment window tries to mark additional invoices. If you tab from one spot to the next and put the check mark on the invoice you want to pay, than tab all the way through back thru the window again QB marks the other invoices that should be left unmarked. If you select the invoice with the mouse, and than tab through the payment steps it does the same. Works fine when only one invoice is in the window. Not sure what is happening. Has anyone else see this behaviour?  I will check a second computer tomorrow when I get a chance.

The solution

I haven't tried that method I enter the payment amount and confirm that QB has matched the correct invoice with the payment.

Will update this post.

Thanks

This is not solved yet, SkinnyRaven, try opening the receive payment window. And you will need to have more than One invoice available to recieve payment on. usually what I have is 3 or 4 that how as partial payments. Than IF I enter the correct payment amount. for normal invoices for the customers. QB WILL PAY the correct one automaticaly by matching the Dollar amount. and will choice the oldest one as it should. BUT IF you than use the tab key to go on to the Memo Field at the bottom of the window. AND GO PAST THAT PART OF THE WINDOW, as the curser keeps going down the window again for a second pass, IT WILL UNMARK THE ORIGINAL PAYMENT and act like it is seeing this for the first time. So it tries to pay any thing else that may be an open invoice for the Customer.

Can anyone duplicate this behaviour. I get it constantly. if there is more than one invoice in the payment window even if I manually select the payment So I am trying hard not to go past the Memo field at the bottom and it seems to be fine doing that.

Thanks Ron Haas

I'll try that. I also noticed last week when entering a payment that covered 2 invoices qb spread the dollar amount over the two oldest invoices, leaving a balance on one invoice instead of selecting the two invoices that matched the payment.
