QB Linux with Enterprise Solutions 10.0. Error (-6190 -816). Using Samba ans SUSE

Several things to check.

First & foremost - are ALL the quickbooks services running?

1.  qbdbfilemon

2.  qbdbmgrn_xx

3.  famd/gamin

Next, check your qbdir.dat file - does it match your server name?

You said your "first" client is able to logon.  Does that mean one specific workstation - or any one?  Does that "first" client open in single-user mode or multi-user mode?

Check your logs.  Depending on how you're setup, qbdbmgrn_xx should be updating one or more logfiles.  Look for any error messages, like "unable to read command line" and report back.

thanks Thumper. I solved the problem. Here is how  I solved it:

The hostname wasn't matching the netbios name, so I just made them match and then it worked. This is not mentioned in the quickbooks linux guide. They should mention that, it took me days to figure it out.
