QB for Mac Accountant question
How do I send my accountant my QB file? I know there is no accountant review copy, so what do I do?
How do I send my accountant my QB file? I know there is no accountant review copy, so what do I do?

Under File > Copy Company File for Windows (or it may be under File > Utilities). You can't enter transactions while the accountant has the file if they want to make changes and send it back to you.
There is no "copy file" and under "utilites," the choices are "verify data, condense data, or rebuild data." I still don't know how to send her a copy.
what year of QB for Mac do you have? (being able to save the file for Windows started around 2006 or so). Under File look for something like save or whatever for Windows. Or, in QB Help search for save file for Windows.
Ok, Will try. I have 2012 QB for Mac. Thanks for trying to help. I am almost wishing I had stayed with Windows!!!
Michelle, What about "Backup QB for Windows..."??? Can I send my accountant a backup? But then, I do not know if I can imoport the changes she makes.
File>Backup to Quickbooks for Windows. Do no data entry in your company file or software updates until you receive the backup for Mac from your accountant.
That's the one. I couldn't remember what it said on the menu.
No, you can't import changes. She can make changes and you can restore the file. But, you shouldn't make changes or enter transactions while she has the file -- you can't merge them together. You can use QB for reports, etc. while she has the file.
After lot of thought...I signed up for Quickbooks online so my accountant and I can both work in my QB at the same time. My accountant will have my file for a while and that would be too long for me to wait to work in QB. I am not loving QB online, so now I am considering getting "Parallels" which would allow me to run QB for Windows on my Mac! Long story short...I wish I had just stayed with my PC.
QuickBooks Online isn't bad once you get use to the different look. You can have multiple windows open by opening another tab in your browser. Clear your browser history periodically to keep it working fast too.
another option is to have QuickBooks hosted -- check out www.cpaasp.com, Right Networks, Cloud9, Uni Data, Swizznet and other Intuit authorized hosting companies.
