Important Announcement! A planned system-wide upgrade will take place over the Memorial Day Weekend in the US (From Thurs, May 24, 2012 at 6 pm PDT thru Tues, May 29, 2012 at 5 am PDT). QB 2008 won't run

US QuickBooks Pro for Windows : 2008

Had a system crash and recovery from backup. All came back, but wouldn't run. Corrupted registration file error, fixed by deleting it - found that on this forum. Now QB won't run -says experienced a problem, must be shut down. Have done install, reinstall, repair... Help!

Did find the make sure it is up-to-date and run qbwebpatch that said it would make sure it was the latest - downloaded it, ran it and it came up and said it couldn't find a QB to update.

Also moved back to IE 8 after finding posts about problems with IE 9.

Any help would be appreciated!

 only 2010 and newer are guaranteed to run on Windows 7

It was running on Windows 7 before the crash just fine.  I'm not sure but what there is still a problem with Windows from my reinstall.  I wasn't having any problems with it before that time.
