QB 2003 (Win) to Mac 2010

US QuickBooks for Macintosh

I need convert my church finances from Win 2003 to Mac 2010. (My wife is the new  treasurer.  The old treasurer is still using QB 2003.)  I do not own any other intermediate versions of Quickbooks, but I have access to a PC.  I'm thinking I need to install a trial version of QB for Windows to upgrade the file before I can transfer it to the Mac version.  Any ideas/suggestions?  What pitfalls do I need to avoid?

The solution

Yes that is exactly what you need to do. QB for mac 2010 can only read QB Windows data files that are created and coverted by QB 2010 for Windows.

The 03 version is very outdated. There is a possibility that some stuff may not covert. (customized reports, payroll data, and misc). You will need to try the convertion process and see what happens.
