By a punch card do you mean a card that you use to reward a free product after so many purchases. If so you would record the sale as a zero sale when redeemed. This will take the free product out of inventory and also record your cost of sale. Later if you wanted to charge the cost of this product to advertising you would make a general journal entry in QB finanical debiting advertising and crediting cost of goods sold
