ProSeries on Windows 2008 Terminal Services - write protect issue

ProSeries : 2008

We have PreSeries installed in a Windows 2008 Terminal Service environment. When 2 users open & edit the same client file, ProSeries lets both of them to open & edit. Its only when 2nd user tries to save that an error is given. How do we fix this?

*headpalm* You have two users opening the same file, and the only thing you're worried about is that one can't save? Why would you have two people using the same file at the same time? That just seems like a quick path to calculation errors.

Cat_069, perhaps I need to clarify.  It's not that you want two people to be editing two files at the same time at all.  In this environment, Proseries does not stop the second person from editing the file that is currently being edited by someone else, when it should.  The second person does not find out that the file is in use by someone else until they try and save the changes they have made.

Ahh, I see. Your issue is more about why ProSeries doesn't create a locking file like it does on a normal network, to keep more than one person from opening a file. gotcha.

Personally, It's been years since I've handled any Terminal Server networks (yes, I tech my own). I'd contact Support and see if they have any info.

Sorry not to be more help.
