Program allows exemption for non-student child aged 19
It appears that Lacerte will allow the dependency exemption for a non-student "child" aged 19, without even a diagnostic message alert. How can this be?

I suppose that Lacerte assumes that the preparer knows the rules.

True of many common situations in Lacerte.

PS has an informational diagnostic: "One of the TP's children is older than 18 but younger than 24. To be claimed as a dependent, Bob must be a full-time student or have gross income of less than $3,650."
When over 23, the diagnostic says: "One of the TP's dependent children is older than 23. To be claimed as a dependent, Bob must have gross income of less than $3,650."
