Important Announcement! A planned system-wide upgrade will take place over the Memorial Day Weekend in the US (From Thurs, May 24, 2012 at 6 pm PDT thru Tues, May 29, 2012 at 5 am PDT). This includes QuickBooks, QuickBooks Payroll, Point of Sale, & Salesforce.com. This is only for US based products. This does not affect QuickBooks Online customers! During this time, you can shop, but can’t place orders online, activate products or update account info. We apologize for the inconvenience & thank you for patience while we improve our infrastructure to better serve you. International versions are unaffected. For more info, see our community discussion.

Proforma : 2011 Form 5695

2011 Form 5695: It does not appear that the prior year credit claimed was proformed into 2011, thus requiring manual entries for all clients wishing to claim credit in TY2011. Am I missing something?

Even if the 2010 amounts had proforma'd, 2010 didn't need pre-2010 amounts, so the carryover would be deficient regardless.

Would be nice to have a diagnostic for any return claiming the credits, reminding us to fill in prior-year amounts, and disappearing when an amount was manually entered into one (or all) of those fields.

If I wanted phone calls, my phone number would be in my profile. If you have a question, post it in the applicable forum.

Thanks for the reply.  The Lacerte Rep was sending the issue further up the ladder.  He spectulated the 2010 appears to have been a missed item as the prior year cost of the Windows carried over.  I agree that if 2010 did not exceed the 500 limit, you would need to look back to 2009, 2007, 2006, etc.  I'm leaning toward printing out all 2010 forms 5695, then having someone manually enter the data.  However, I will wait for a while as the Lacerte Rep implied they may be able to do something with an update.
