I installed ProSeries and I did about 10 Tax Returns. Then I got a message saying that I needed to License my product. When I tried to license product I get an error Code 4-0. When I contacted Intuit, they told me that there is a problem with Windows and that I need to call Microsoft. Does anyone else have this problem?
Nope, no such problem here. That sounds like nonsense about calling Microsoft for what is clearly a ProSeries glitch.
4-0 is generally fixed by reinstalling the entitlement client

In order to install that component a functional version of Microsoft .NET is required.

It could be possible there were errors uninstalling or
repairing .NET
That was the problem. It turned out that Norton Internet Security was not allowing the update to the .net file which ProSeries needed to License the program.
