I have recently been experiencing difficulty with the "missing data" utility in Lacerte 2010. When using it either as a "jump" from the diagnostics or just deleting the missing data flags, the program locks up on me. Any suggestions?
This can sometimes be caused by a damaged configuration file. Close the 2010 program and rename W10Tax.ini file to W10Tax.old. This file gets recreated when you reopen the program.
If your on Windows XP, the file will be located in C:\Documents and Settings\<username>\Local Settings\Application Data\Lacerte folder.
For Windows Vista/7, the file is in the C:\USERS\\Appdata\Local\Lacerte folder.
I have renamed this file in Windows 7 at least 10 times and then it creates another one. Tried to install Lacerte from the CD and it says there is no Prep file. My account ID and password are not recognized when I try to download the Prep file.
Try to install from All Programs, Lacerte, 2010 Lacerte Websetup.
