Problem in sendind remittance by email

Hi, i also have an issue where some of my clients will be sent an email attachment of a purchase order in .pdf format but when they recieve it the attachment is a .dat file which i understand is a generic text file used by many programs... its as if the .pdf file is corrupted somewhere in the exporting process and comes out as heiroglyphics at the other end. Do you have any ideas on how to rectify this

I have seen this problem happening before.
First of all, update Outlook, Acrobat, & Windows first. Its possible that your programs are not uptodate.

In internet explorer make sure that Outlook is set to be your email program.
Setting your email to "Plain Text" has nothing to do with attaching a pdf file.
If all else fails perhaps try an email program like Mozilla Thunderbird. I had many, many, MANY problems with Outlook for a long time and since switching to Thunderbird, have had none.

Emails dont take that long to pop up, it is a good system - when its working 100%.

We use a 'Print to email' driver which enables you to email anything you can print directly from any application  http://www.blackice.com/Print2Email.htm costs around £20 (single user) and saves a lot of saving and locating files (its gives you the option of format you wish to send as default ( PDF etc) I'm sure they offer a free download so try it out

You can email anything you can print within Quickbooks with this driver

Maybe Quickbook will to resolve this within their software in the very near future
