I ahve just installed QBPro 2001 on my computer. I had a hard drive failure and I have now using windows 2000. On my old hard drive I had Win98 and everything works fine. When I try to print a list the top is cut off. When I try to print statements the tear off is wrong. I took the rpinter to my other win98 and it works fine. Is there a file I need to change?
you need to make sure that the printer (you didn't mention what kind it is) is compatible with the operating system you are now using. make sure you have the proper driver for that o/s.
also, check your printer settings in QB. go to File>Printer Setup and then to each of the different items you need to print (checks, reports, etc) make sure all are set up the way you need them to be.
The printer is an okidata 590. It works on the other system which is win98. I have the right drivers. The setup is correct. How about a reinstall? or should I remove it completely and install again.
did you check to make sure the printer is compatible with the operating system on the new computer?
how about installing a generic printer and trying that? if all prints okay then, the printer is probably not compatible w/the operating system.
uninstalling and then reinstalling might be the answer - maybe it didn't install properly. make sure you've got nothing running in the background before you reinstall the printer.
