Printing in '06 program

I just downloaded the new program, and am impressed with the new look. However, two things disappoint me.I can't print anything, not even a Tax Summary window, without the PPR window popping up and wanting $15. I ordered the unlimited version. Also, in prior years at the bottom of the window it would tell you whether the cell you were on was a converted value, numeric input field, etc. The 2006 program doesn't seem to have that feature. Can anyone tell me if I'm missing something here, or do your products work like this also?

Apparently you have a ppr program. You can't print until you pay for the program. If the wrong program was sent to you, contact intuit.

I have 1040 complete NOT PPR and it is asking for the $15. I called my customer service rep (he is checking on the problem) and the customer service phone number twice and they state their system shows my order for unlimited fed and states (1040 complete), but no answer as to what the problem is. I'm guessing their software has a glitch!!

I'm not sure about your issue with the ppr auth. With the question you had with the status bar at the bottom of your proseries screen. If you go up to your VIEW menu at the top of the ProSeries screen, make sure there is a check next to STATUS BAR. That will show you what type of field you are on.

Thanks, ktaylor. That fixed my status bar. Duh, I should have thought of that myself!

Regarding the PPR problem when we already paid for unlimited, the nice lady in India gave me a free code to enter for $15 credit. Now I can print that particular client. She said that should fix all of my files for printing! I said, "No, it doesn't work that way." Then she said that their system is "updating" and if I have any further problems, be sure to call back later.

Since it isn't critical to be able to print at this point, I guess I'll wait and see if a fix is released soon.

I am curious, though. Can anyone out there print without getting a PPR message?

My customer service rep just called me back and told me it was a "Known Problem" they were working on.

The PPR issue instead of unlimited use is the "Known Problem".

You may have ordered the unlimited version, but that doesn't mean that you were sent the correct program.

I was having this problem. I called tech support and was told there is a problem at their end that is preventing certain licensing information from going to your computer.

They provided me with a code to override the setting so that now I can print normally.

I used the 2005 program to upload the 2006 software, and I have no problem printing. My guess is like the others that they downloaded the wrong software.

For those of you who noticed, there are some items that are not yet ready in this version, like charity rules and the Qualified Tuition Deduction which was not renewed. If it is renewed between now and 12/31, the software and forms will need to be updated. This will delay filing some returns.

I origionally encountered the same problem and Customer Service and Tech Support could not help. But then I reloaded and linked online to activate and register and it solved the problem on both computers

I having the print issue with tax year 2006. I think my problem arose when I made cosmetic changes to the way the firm information prints on the return without first updating the firm information at the Pro Series web site.

I believe that in my case at least, making the firm information on the Pro Series site identical to what I had set up locally resolved the problem once and for all.

While in a return or in Home Base, go to the 'View' menu and turn on the 'Status Bar', you will see at the bottom of the window the information you want to see.
